• The TED.com community in Bucharest

On the 22nd of June, we brought together, for the first time, a couple of dozen members from the TED.com Community, right here in Bucharest. Together with partners and TED fans, we answered a few questions about TEDxBucharest 2010, with the help of our host, Spazio Studio.

What will it happen in 2010? Who will be the speakers? When is TEDx Bucharest 2010 going to take place? These questions were just three out of the several ones that the TED fans had in mind for the meeting on Thursday.

Together we watched the latest TED Global summary, which had taken place in Oxford in mid July and put the whole TEDx concept upfront and how TEDxBucharest had grown from a 100 attendees event to something 10 times larger.

Further on, after a short reminder of the 2009 edition, all of us had the chance to discuss the 15th of October TEDx Bucharest 2010 event, starting with some of the speakers to the details regarding the main themes of this edition. We also had a surprise instored for our attendance: At the end of this year we will have organized for the first time a special kind of TED event: TEDx Youth at Bucharest, an event dedicated to youngsters passionate about discovering and spreading ideas. The date is set for the 20th of November 2010.

In the end, the participants were able to share ideas with the organizing team and amongst themselves. The night finished in a pleasant atmosphere, full of energy and enthusiasm for the events to come this autumn.
