Transmisia live a conferinţei globale ce are loc în Washington DC va aduce comunităţii TED din Bucureşti discursurile lui Jaqueline Novogratz, maiestăţii sale Sheikha Mayassa, cercetatoarea Deborah Rhodes şi alţi activisti, cercetători şi artişti. Alături de aceştia, în spatiul de dezbatere moderat de Melania Medeleanu, se alătură voci  puternice ale spaţiului românesc : Lucian Mîndruţă, Maria Şandor, Leslie Hawke, Alexandru Bălăşescu. Temele abordate variază de la mariaje timpurii versus educaţie, până la schimbarea mentalităţilor româneşti faţă de femei, din ‘89 până în prezent.

Traversând culturi, generaţii şi sectoare diferite ale vieţii, femeile sunt recunoscute din ce în ce mai mult ca arhitecţi ai schimbării. Ele continuă să devină inovatori cu perspective nebănuite în domenii ce variază de la sisteme financiare, artă şi cercetare până la construirea unor noi direcţii pentru comunităţile şi ţările din care fac parte. În întreaga lume şi în România femeile capătă o voce din ce în ce mai puternică, cu şi despre care merită discutat, iar conferinţa TEDxWomen găzduieşte spaţiu multicultural creat pentru această conversaţie.

TEDxWomen este organizat sub licenţă de Asociaţia Generaţia Y – curator TEDxBucharest, în parteneriat cu Sistemul ONU în România. Evenimentul începe la 15:00 şi se incheie la 23:30 iar accesul se face gratuit, pe bază de invitaţie. Informaţii din timpul evenimentului vor fi disponibile pe contul de twitter @TEDxBucharest.

În spiritul “idei care merită împărtășite”, TED a creat TEDx. TEDx este o platformă de evenimente locale, organizate independent, ce adună oameni care să împărtășească o experiență tip TED. Despre TED
TED este o organizație non profit devotată ideilor care merită împărtășite. A început acum 25 de ani ca o conferință de patru zile ținută în California și a ajuns astăzi o conferință globală care anual  invită liderii lumii să-și prezinte ideile în 18 minute. Discursurile lor pot fi apoi accesate gratuit pe TED.com. Printre vorbitorii TED se numără și Bill Gates, Al Gore, Gane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Phillipe Stark, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Each user will access video content from the best quality internet connection is permitted, the maximum being HD;
IPhone and iPad owners can watch the event live on their mobile devices;
At any time during the transmission it will be possible to navigate through the entire flow that has already been broadcast. In other words, a user starts in mid-stream event, but can always run back or return to the current time;
Users will be able to directly control the live streaming experience, by choosing their favorite shooting angle, because the technology will be able to run multiple cameras simultaneously.

The building which now stands alone as the Crystal Palace Ballrooms was first opened in 1899 and was part of the old Bond Warehouse Customs of Bucharest. The building’s construction was realized with the guidance and design of famous Italian architect Giulio Magni and the technical improvements were realized by renowned Romanian engineer Anghel Saligny.
