Stefan Bortnowski

Architect

Stefan Bortnowski is a brilliant architect, specialized in Architecte Batisseur, Design-Build, Herritage Architecture Conservation, Herritage Crafts Development and Experimental Training in Architecture.

Stefan, together with a partner, created the association "Artis Web Workshops", an organization which values craftsmanship as an "art of common sense" and encourages the student's creativity on this bases through workshops. The latest workshop organized by Artis is the "International Workshop of Restoration and Sustainability" held in Curtisoara (Olt). Since 2005, when the foundation was started, other workshops have been held in Sinaia (Prahova), Bran (Brasov) and Tibanesti (Iasi).

Stefan Bortnowski has been part of the architecture team which created the "Bolt" project, which has represented Romania in the 11th edition of The Venice Biennale, in 2008. The project won the contest organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Union of Architects of Romania.
